Chief Executive Officer

Gilles became CEO of Aceto in July 2019 and brings more than 30 years of global industry leadership experience in life sciences, fine chemicals, and research chemicals to his new role at Aceto. Most recently, he served as Head of Bioscience at Lonza. Previously, he had held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Sigma Aldrich during his nearly 30 years there, including his role as Executive Vice President and President of the Sigma Aldrich Fine Chemicals Commercial Unit. Gilles earned a master’s degree in organic chemistry from the Ecole Supérieure de Chimie Industrielle de Lyon and the advanced management program from the Harvard Business School in Boston.

Amit Maheshwari

President, Finar

Amit Maheshwari has been with Finar since its inception in 1998 and has been the Managing Director since March 2015.  He joined the Aceto Leadership team in May 2021 with Finar’s acquisition by Aceto. Amit has been instrumental in building the Fine Chemicals & Pharmaceutical excipient business with a strong focus on organisational growth, expansion to new markets and building Finar’s R&D capabilities. He has a hands-on approach and closely oversees the Supply chain, Quality, Operations, IT and Sales functions. He holds a Management degree in International Business from the Nirma University, Ahmedabad.

 


Jeremiah Marsden, Cascade Chemistry, Aceto, CDMO
Jeremiah Marsden

President, Cascade

Jeremiah joined Aceto in May 2021 as part of its acquisition of Cascade Chemistry, a highly regarded manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), regulatory starting materials, and advanced intermediates located in Eugene, Oregon. Jeremiah joined Cascade in 2004 as a synthetic chemist before acquiring the company in 2012 and becoming President. Under his leadership Cascade expanded its service offerings, growing from 6 employees to almost 50 process, analytical and quality chemists today; added laboratories and manufacturing suites, including a $14 million GMP API manufacturing facility now under construction; and increased revenues by 600%.  Jeremiah earned his PhD in chemistry from the University of Oregon.


Ken McCracken, A&C Chemicals, Aceto
Ken McCracken

President, A&C Chemical

Since 2003, Ken has been responsible for leading his team and driving the long-term value of the A&C group, focusing on financial and legal stewardship, strategy and execution.  Prior to 2003, Ken was the chief financial officer of Quadra Chemical Group for 9 years. Member of Quadra’s six-person executive team, responsible for all financial and IT requirements including a leading role in strategic planning, corporate acquisitions and post-acquisition integration.  He completed numerous acquisitions, mostly in turnaround situations, that helped build Quadra into of one of North America’s top 10 chemical distributors with revenues in excess of $250 million.  After graduating from McGill University, Ken began his career as a CPA working for KPMG.  He had been married for over 25 years with three kids.

President, Europe & Asia

Denis joined Aceto in November, 2019 and is based in Lyon, France. Aceto’s business unit teams in Germany, France and Netherlands report directly to Denis who also coordinates support functions ( HR, Finance, Logistics, Regulatory and IT ) in Europe. Denis has been consulting in the chemicals and life Science space over the past 3 years and spent over 20 years at Sigma Aldrich with increasing managerial responsibilities in sales, marketing and operations throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa including, most recently, VP of Sales & Marketing, EMEA. Denis has a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Clermont-Ferrand, France and an MBA from EM Business School, Lyon, France.


Varun Vijay Rao

Chief Procurement Officer

Varun joined Aceto in November 2020 and is based in Bangalore, India and oversees Aceto procurement organization including sourcing offices in India and China. He comes to Aceto with a varied background including Engineering, Marketing, Strategy, Procurement, Sales, and General business management for firms such as Cummins, ArvinMeritor and Actuant in both the US and India. Varun co-founded and directed Radeo Engineered Components immediately prior to joining Aceto. Varun holds a BS in Mathematics & Physics from Elon University and a master’s in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University.

Edward Roullard

SVP Marketing & Operations

Ed became SVP of Marketing & Operations at Aceto in April 2020, and has oversight for operations, supply chain, Quality, IT, and marketing. He comes to Aceto with over 25 years in the life sciences and fine chemicals industries, 20 of those with Sigma-Aldrich / Merck KGaA. Ed has held senior roles in marketing, sales, supply chain management, operations, process improvement, distributor management, and strategy in both Europe and the US. In his last position at Sigma-Aldrich/Merck KGaA, he was SVP of eBusiness, overseeing the $2B web channel. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology at Cornell University and an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business.


James Steele

Chief Financial Officer

James joined Aceto in January 2020. He brings more than 30 years of strategic financial execution and global finance experience. Most recently, James was Director of Corporate/International Finance at World Wide Technology (WWT). WWT is a $11B private, global technology service provider based in Missouri. Prior to joining WWT, James spent over 10 years at Sigma Aldrich/Merck KGaA in key executive financial roles of increasing responsibility. In his last position at Sigma-Aldrich/Merck KGaA James was Vice President, Integration Planning Office Lead. In this position he played a key role on several M&A opportunities including the acquisition of Sigma-Aldrich by Merck KGaA. James holds a BSBA in Accounting from the University of Missouri-St Louis and is a CPA.


John Elliot Simpkins

SVP Human Resources

John joined Aceto in August, 2019 with more than 25 years of executive Human Resources experience. Prior to joining Aceto, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Drive Medical for 4 years. Drive was one of North America’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of durable medical equipment. John was also a member of Drive’s executive management committee where he led the companies global human capital initiatives. John began his Human Resources career at Henry Schein, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and the world’s largest supplier of office-based healthcare products. In 1992, he was named Director of HR operations and in his 20+ career took on increased responsibilities up to and including leading Henry Schein’s talent acquisition and diversity functions globally. John is a graduate of St. John’s University where he earned degrees in Political Science and Communications. He is also certified in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where he has earned SHRM-SCP certification.


Keith Wilkinson

SVP Specialty Chemicals

Keith joined Aceto in 1990. He holds dual roles as President, North America and SVP of Specialties Chemicals business globally. Keith’s initial role at Aceto was product manager and he then served in multiple roles of increasing responsibility over the years. Since 2010, Keith has been involved in Aceto’s strategic push in the specialty chemical arena in Europe. Keith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Delaware.


Doug Wullfleff

SVP Mergers & Acquisitions

Doug joined Aceto in June 2019. In addition to his responsibilities at Aceto, he is an advisor to New Mountain Capital. Doug has over 40 years global M&A experience including with Gelest, Inc., another New Mountain Capital company, and 5 years in the strategy and corporate development group of VWR International where he was responsible for originating and closing multiple transactions. He also advised on transactions for Hewlett Packard Corporation, General Electric Company, Dover Corporation, Eastman Kodak Company and numerous privately-owned companies.Doug holds an A.B. degree from Colgate University and an MBA with high honors from Adelphi University.
